In keeping with the theme of our new exhibit, join us at 6:30pm on August 7th for another Virtual First Friday! This month we will be throwing a historical cocktail party with Privateer Rum Distillery and our friends at Untapped History! You will not only learn some spirited history, but also how to make cocktails from historical recipes! (see below)

Ipswich Old Fashioned
2 oz. Privateer Navy Yard Rum
1/2 oz. Molasses Syrup*
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
2 Dashes Regan’s Orange Bitters
1 Pinch of Salt
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice, and stir. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass over fresh ice and garnish with an orange twist.
*Molasses Syrup- Combine 2 parts molasses to 1 part hot water and stir until integrated. Let cool before use.
Privateer Mint Julep
2 oz. Privateer New England Reserve Rum
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup*
10-12 Mint Leaves
Muddle mint leaves and syrup in the bottom of an Old Fashioned glass. Add rum and fill with crushed ice. Garnish with a bouquet of mint sprigs.
*Simple Syrup- Combine equal parts of sugar and hot water and stir until integrated. Let cool before use.
