Spin-a-Yarn Children’s Story and Craft Hour – Postponed

March 22 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Please join us as we welcome our special guest author and reader Jenn Bogard! Copies of “The ABC’s of Plum Island” will be available for purchase and Jenn will personally autograph them.

This delightful children’s book celebrates the past and present of Plum Island, Massachusetts. Each letter highlights a special part of Plum Island and includes vivid photographs and short poems.”

About Jenn’s connection to the Island

Jenn’s great-great-grandfather, Arthur W. Woods, Sr. was the lighthouse keeper for Newburyport Harbor Lighthouse (Plum Island Lighthouse), in 1905 until his death in 1919. The iconic workshop on Plum Bush Creek (next to Bob’s Lobster) was once her great-grandfather’s where he made and sold wooden boats. Jenn’s family ties and her experiences with family on the island have instilled in her a great appreciation for the barrier island’s history, for the Newburyport Harbor (Plum Island) lighthouse, for the birdlife, for work of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, for the boardwalks, and more.
