Sharon Speildenner, Board Member

Sharon Spieldenner was born in Georgia (Air Force brat), grew up on Cape Cod, lived in Boston, Cambridge, London, New York City and Rockport, and currently resides in Newburyport. Sharon has spent over 18 years working in public and academic library archives and museums and nearly 10 years in the design business as a graphic/multimedia designer and illustrator.

Presently, she work as a librarian and archivist at the Newburyport Public Library and very part-time in the archives at the Museum of Old Newbury. She holds a BA in Art and French from UMASS Boston and a Master’s in Library Science and Archival Management from Simmons University. Between 2003-2012, Sharon volunteered and served on the board of the Schooner Adventure in Gloucester. When in her “spare” time, she enjoys urban exploration, old graveyards, kayaking and painting. Sharon is looking forward to serving on the Newburyport Maritime Society Board and helping the Custom House Maritime Museum anyway that she can.
