Tall Ships & Sail Boston 2009 Lecture

Recently over 30 people gathered at the Custom House Maritime Museum for Thad Koza’s audiovisual program of the 2009 tall ships visiting Boston this summer, including the FRIENDSHIP that comes to Newburyport in August.

All were treated to Thad’s amazing photography of these magnificent vessels, his deep knowledge (Did you know that Adolph Hitler commissioned the tall ship that is now THE EAGLE, our US Coast Guard tall ship?) and his remarkable insights since he’s been following the tall ships around the globe for over 3 decades as a writer and photographer .

The spirited discussion with the audience made us all feel like we were part of the crew.

PortMedia will be broadcasting this lecture on Newburyport’s public access channel 10. It will air on Thursday July 2 & 9 at 8:30 pm and Saturday July 4 & 11 at 6:00 pm. Many thanks to Jerry Mullins for taping this event.

In addition to leaning about these ships, their history and the actions of the crews…like all Custom House Maritime Museum events, we also managed to have a little fun!
