FIRST SHOW: NEWBURY ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

Community Gallery

Thurs-Sat: 10-5, Sun: 12-5

What is the Custom House Maritime Museum’s Community Gallery?

Just in time for the holidays, the Custom House Maritime Museum will unveil a Community Gallery on its main floor. The purpose is to provide a rotating gallery space for presentation of arts and crafts and display of specialty collections.

The first exhibit will display drawings by Newbury Elementary students from grades 4-6. Brittany Williams, Newbury Elementary School Art Teacher, will curate this show.

“Over the course of this past year, it has become abundantly obvious that we need a rotating gallery space to meet demand. This new Community Gallery will solve, in part, for this pent up appetite. To date a photographer, model maker and a member with a focused collection have requested booking the space.”
