Volunteers are the Heart and Soul of Our Organization

Interested in Joining Our Team? Training is Provided

We could not accomplish all we do without their support and passion for the museum. Thank you to all our volunteers! Are you interested in becoming involved with an organization committed to education and preservation?

Docent Program

Docents shape the visitor experience by providing information about the Museum’s collections and influence the tour-goer’s experience as they discover the treasures within the Museum. Love of history, engaging with others and commitment are key.

Museum Ambassadors Program

Help people get the most out of their visits by welcoming visitors and circulating through the public spaces to answer questions, provide directions and even keep eyes and ears on Museum artifacts and collections. Ambassadors frequently act Behind-the-Scenes, providing much-needed assistance to Museum staff for facilitating special events and activities, both before and after an event.

Internship Program

Interns get the chance to learn professional skills by contributing to a variety of departments and opportunities around the museum. These skills range from public speaking and learning local history to specifically focusing on museum sciences or non-profit programming. Internships are intended for students ranging from high school to college and graduate school who wish to grow their professional and academic portfolio.

For students interested in interning and for more information, please contact Chris Silva, Executive Director, csilva@thechmm.org
